I've been there and back before
I wrecked a thousand ships before I ever saw the shore
I was lost from the start
Like a a child with no name
If I could speak the native tongue
Then I’d have so much more to say
Ancient architecture haunts me
Cobblestone alleys brought me
To the tavern by the sea the band began to sing
And Isabelle was dancing to an old forgotten tune
As we all waited for the sun to come and take the moon

Out of the corner of my eye
I thought I saw someone I knew
Back from when I was better off
And had much more left to lose
But now that's so far away
Away from where I sit tonight
Without a hand to hold or a familiar face in site
But it’s too late to turn around
I might as well embrace it now
Bartender please another round the band began to sing
And Isabelle she’s twirling dancing holes in her shoes
While the night fought like hell to keep the light from coming through

Now Isabelle is losing steam
And the band starts playing slow
Seems like it’s time to leave
But I had no where to go
I stepped out into the night
Walked around til it was day
Found somewhere to lay my head down and dream it all away
I vowed not to return again
I swore it off but here I am
Back in the tavern by the sea
They were waiting there for me
And Isabelle’s still dancing cause there’s nothing else to do
As we waited for another son to come and take the moon
